Søndagsskolen # 6 handmade prints on textile with Anna Clarisse

For the upcoming summer edition of Søndagsskolen we are very happy to announce that Anna Clarisse will visit us for an afternoon of handmade prints on textile.
On Sunday 21 June you have the opportunity to learn about print making and creation of motifs for printing on textile with a rolling pin. The rolling pin works as a printing roller enabling the motif to be repeated again and again. We will dive into unique printmaking, composition, color mixing, reactive colors and fibers.
For the school we will create motifs inspired by our surrounding summer flora and objects we can find in the kitchen at Alle Tiders. We will start by making test prints on cotton so please bring your own old used* kitchen towels and give them a new life. *They need to be washed and can be either dark or light but have to be 100% natural fibers such as cotton or linen.
By the end of the afternoon you are able to bring home a finished printed tea towel that you can later fixate in your oven and use in your everyday household.
We will use non-toxic binders and pigments.
Anna Clarisse is a textile designer based in Copenhagen mainly working with print and color in relation to food and textiles in the design studio SMARCH WORLD. Her deep fascination with food, meals and traditions shape her practice leaving the dining table as a returning starting and end point in her work. Anna's work comes to life as unique table ware and clothing inspired from kitchen uniforms and she engages in projects both static and dynamic such as performative pieces.Btw, we will host Søndagsskolen outside so please bring a sweater if the summer turns colder.Søndagsskolen is a recurring informal school at Alle Tiders. Every month we invite a talented artist, farmer, chef, communicator or craftsperson to teach us something new about the world around us.
